An Account Director at V2 Communications is a senior leader who oversees the strategic direction, performance, and growth of multiple accounts. ADs serve as trusted advisors to clients, ensuring programs align with business goals and deliver measurable results. This role combines strategic planning, client relationship management, and team leadership, while also contributing to firm growth through business development and talent cultivation. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead strategic planning for assigned accounts, aligning communications programs with client business and marketing goals
• Assume responsibility for account and team health, performance, and client satisfaction
• Serve as a senior point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and providing thoughtful, creative counsel
• Oversee execution of integrated campaigns, ensuring quality, consistency, and impact across all deliverables
• Partner with other members of account team to execute against all parts of client programs
• Partner with account leadership to identify and pursue opportunities for organic account growth

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, English or a related field
• 7–10 years of PR or communications agency experience, with some or all of that time in B2B technology
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic, results-driven communications programs
• Strong business acumen with experience identifying and closing new business opportunities
• Exceptional leadership skills, with a track record of building, motivating, and retaining high-performing teams
• Excellent writing, editing, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing attention to detail 

Work Environment 

This is a full-time hybrid role and will be expected to work from our Boston office at least twice per week, depending on client and team needs. Up to 10% day and overnight travel for client and V2 purposes may be required. 

Compensation 

The expected salary for this role is $110,000-$125,000 annually, and may vary based on experience and qualifications. • Serve as the primary media relations driver, from developing pitch concepts to securing high-value coverage in trade and business press
• Draft and edit client-facing materials, including bylined articles, speaking abstracts, award submissions, social content, and press releases
• Contribute meaningfully to client calls and updates, providing concise updates and informed recommendations
• Collaborate with team members to ensure that deliverables remain on track, to troubleshoot issues, and to optimize tactics for better results
• Coach AC and AAE staff on assigned accounts
• Conduct industry, competitor, and media research to inform strategy and pitch development
• Maintain consistent quality across deliverables, meeting deadlines while upholding V2’s high standards for accuracy and creativity

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, English, or a related field
• 2-3 years of PR experience, at least 1 of which should have been at an agency and preferably in B2B technology
• Proven ability to develop and execute media relations campaigns
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different formats
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows; familiarity with MuckRack a plus
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing attention to detail
• Collaborative, solutions-focused approach and eagerness to take initiative
