During the 90’s, Maura Fitzgerald successfully founded and developed one of the premier brands in strategic communications and technology public relations in the U.S., FitzGerald Communications. FitzGerald’s teams created and managed strategic communication programs for some of the most innovative companies of that era, including IBM, SIRIUS Satellite Radio and Software.com (now Openwave).

After selling FitzGerald in 2002, Maura became involved in a variety of different projects. With the advent of Web 2.0, a new generation of entrepreneurial companies emerged in a variety of markets including green and alternative technologies, social networking and internet video. Identifying the need for a strategic communications partner experienced in brand building and category creation, Maura decided the industry was ready for a new kind of high tech pr agency, poised to address the sophisticated communications challenges of these emerging markets. Partnering with Jean Serra, an experienced technology communications strategist and senior executive from FitzGerald Communications, she launched Version 2.0 Communications.

With her ability to create highly effective public relations and communication initiatives, leverage her extensive influencer network and provide business insight based on her own successful career as an entrepreneur, Maura is building an new media communications agency positioned to be a valued partner to a new generation of entrepreneurial organizations.
