This summer undoubtedly looks a bit different than those in the past, but us V2ers are still making the best of a socially distanced situation. From sprucing up the house to setting off on adventures around New England, here’s how V2ers are spending their staycations.

I just got back from an extended trip down to Cape Cod for some beach and sun and relaxation time!

My sister and I have been taking on small hobbies to keep sane while hunkering down at our parent’s house – from running around the neighborhood to tie-dying our wardrobes and exploring new recipes in The Defined Dish cookbook. One of the best days, though, was having a mimosa tasting competition with our neighbors (the one with freshly squeezed pineapple juice won). The next adventure awaits at a week-long York Beach, Maine retreat, where many of my siblings, aunts and cousins will get together for the first time since quarantine started.

I’ve always loved the woods and being outside, so with the pandemic, this summer has been the perfect excuse to do some New England hiking! I’ve already hiked Mt. Wachusett, Mt. Chocorua in the White Mountains, Camel’s Hump in the Green Mountains (low key got lost, but we made it) and Gulf Haagas in Maine. Can’t wait to explore some more!
Courtney Garvey, Assistant Content Executive
I’ve been embracing summer in the city—albeit a much calmer than usual one—going for lots of walks and picnicking in the parks near my apartment.
Jenna Gilligan, Vice President
Summer Sundays are made for getting takeout from Belle Isle Seafood in Winthrop and settling down for lunch with a view! Summer also means it’s time for yard work…and pruning!
Megan Nealon, Account Director
My husband and I have been using this “downtime” to finally get to some of the house projects that have been on our list, like gardening and landscaping. We’ve also been taking advantage of spending extra time in Wellfleet at my in-law’s place. It’s certainly a different type of summer but I’m not complaining about the slower pace.
Allison Webster, Account Manager
For my week off in August, I’m looking forward to quarantining up on my family’s farm on Vinalhaven, Maine. By unplugging and embracing the outdoors for a week—whether it’s out on the boat exploring neighboring islands or on the farm getting my hands dirty suckering tomato trees—I’m lucky to be able to recharge and reset for the start of fall.
Meaghan Birnie, Account Coordinator
I’ve been spending the past few months at my parents’ house on Cape Cod perfecting a replica of Fenway Park—the Bocce Court edition! Pesky pole and all. Next up, some Green Monster seats above the scoreboard.
